A Little Rain, A Little Scenery and some Sun

Still in Alexandra at the McGrath POP, it started raining at 7am and got quite heavy so was an ideal rest and domestic duties morning.  Fresh cooked scones for morning tea cooked in our Bessemer pot was the order of the day.
I’ve just seen the weather forecast for Alexandra they are predicting –1 degrees in the morning that’ll be nice !!.   After lunch we all took a drive down towards Clyde and Robin found a lookout up a gravel road.  (Thats the 2nd time I’ve used the 4WD on this trip !)   The view from the top of the township of Clyde and the Clyde Dam was magnificent.

Back down the hill and a drive along the Bank of Lake Dunstan to check out the freedom camping area along the lake side.   A lovely spot to stop.
Across the top of the dam then for some photos and we then drove into Alexandra to wander around before returning to the Caravan

Back at  the caravan where we sat out. in the sun before we got a visit from the POP owner, Val.   A lovely hospitable host who took us around her well kept gardens and home.   The generosity of people in these POPs can’t be beaten.   At Mosgiel one of the motorhomers returned with about 15 1kg bags of tomatoes and a couple of strawberry punnets which he distributed to everyone.   This afternoon we were given eggplant and tomatoes and a returning walker gave us all wild mushrooms – a real cheap dinner!
