Giant Sandflies and Meat Lovers

More rain overnight and this morning as we leave Hari Hari for Hokitika about 70km away.   We stopped on the way to look around the “Bushmans Centre” at Pukekura.   A cafe and bushmans museum full of souvenirs and with a museum dedicated to the pioneers of aerial deer catching with some of the old netting guns on display along with some live possum in cages.

The proprietor has among other things a good collection of amusing signs including the photographic record of the “Giant Sandfly Hunt”  unfortunately the sandfly wasn’t on display (she had been too busy cooking to put it out).

No Vegetarian Lovers Here !
A door marked “Toilet” led to about three doors in all with this gentleman at the end!

A switch on the side wall of the "weta experience"provided some amusement, it doesn’t turn the light on but starts a small water pump firing a jet of water aimed at the person looking through the viewing panel.    Robin was right in line so it missed Pauline.

It's Tiring being a Tourist Attraction !

A last interesting sign to read before proceeding to the NZMCA POP at Hokitika and a quick trip into town for some more food.
